One of the most important items to include on your packing list is your passport. While some might think that this is obvious, especially when traveling internationally, I feel it needs to be said. Because one time, when I was a wee young thing, my mom forgot to pack our passports when we road-tripped to Niagara Falls. And while getting into Canada wasn’t that big a deal, getting back to the U.S. proved to be slightly more problematic. Especially since my brother is adopted from Russia and therefore wasn’t born in the U.S. He was four at the time and started panicking and crying, thinking we would leave him at the border while we went on our vacation. Obviously we didn’t do that, but we let him sweat a little. Totally kidding, it all turned out fine, we weren’t that cruel. Had you going there though.

Pro-tip: Always carry identification with you, regardless of where you are going. You can never be too prepared.
