Spontaneity can lead to surprises– some good, some bad. Whilst exploring the city of Philadelphia, we decided to try a new sushi place for some grub before heading to Magic Gardens. Unfortunately, “grub” turned out to be more in the Timon and Pumba sense of the word. Directly after ordering our food, my friend froze and said, “Don’t freak out, but there is a GIANT cockroach about 6 inches from your head.” I kept my cool, turned around, and sure enough, there he was. We called the waitress over and she went postal.
Pro-Tip: Sometimes, cockroaches in restaurants can work in your favor. The owner was so grateful that we didn’t make a scene that we got complimentary meals, drinks, and desserts. We didn’t even care that we missed our timed tickets, the free food was more than worth our while.
