Ancient Greece is the birthplace of society as we know it. Without their contributions to mathematics, architecture, theater, medicine, philosophy, and democracy, the world wouldn’t be the same. Unfortunately, the key word in that sentence is “ancient.” They don’t have too much to brag about other than the ancient times. Because of that, most of what they have on the mainland is rocks and ruins. And while that’s interesting for the first few days, it gets fairly repetitive as the week drags on.
Pro-tip: If you’re planning a trip to Greece, plan more time on the islands and less time on the mainland. It will add to the diversity of your experience.
