Weddings are a joyous occasion. You get to spend time with people you haven’t seen in years, you get to reminisce about old times, you get to dance, and most importantly, you get to celebrate love. I had been looking forward to this wedding for months; what to wear, where to stay, how to get there, etc. I had packed and repacked in my head over and over again. I went through multiple dress options before finally deciding on one and then painted my nails to match so that I couldn’t change my mind again. I made sure that everything was waiting by the door hours before I needed to leave. About an hour or so into my trip, my heart dropped to my stomach. I realized that I had forgotten the dress and left the garment bag by the door. At this point, I had 2 choices: keep on driving and try to buy a new dress once I had arrived or turn around to go get the original. I decided to turn around but was kicking myself the whole way back. Needless to say, it was a fun conversation piece every time someone complimented me on the dress at the wedding.
Pro-Tip: Try to keep your travel items as compact as possible. The more spread out they are, the more likely you are to forget something.
