As a high school student, I had a perfect attendance record. Which, don’t get me wrong, didn’t matter AT ALL but was nevertheless inexplicably important to me at the time. So when you’re down in Florida visiting your grandparents and they tell you that all flights for the next two days between Florida and New York are cancelled due to a snowstorm, your first thought might be “this is NOT going to screw up my perfect attendance record.” Additionally, you’ve got tickets to a Broadway show that night for which you are super amped. So what’s a girl to do? This girl switched airlines, flew to Atlanta, then flew to Philadelphia, then rented a car and drove from Philly to Jersey, and then took a train into New York. It was a planes trains and automobiles kind of day.
Pro-Tip: Roll with the punches. If at first your travels plans don’t pan out, try try again. Because you are not about to miss a day of school. Nerd.
